ABOUT P M BUCHAN
Devon-based author, comic-book writer and PR specialist P M Buchan was born in the North East of England and studied BA (Hons) English Literature at the University- of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. He has been published in The Times Literary Supplement, Rue Morgue Magazine, Bleeding Cool, and Modern Language Review (journal of the Modern Humanities Research Association), writing monthly columns for various international genre magazines and interviewing authors such as Anne Rice, Steven Hall and Roman Dirge.
As well as being quoted by the Guardian as an authority on the British comic-book industry, he has had monthly comic strips published in Starburst and SCREAM magazines, is co-creator of the comic-book series HERETICS, La Belle Dame Sans Merci and LOVE WILL TEAR US APART and has worked with artists that include Ben Templesmith (IDW: 30 Days of Night), Kate Brown (Marvel Comics: Young Avengers) and Caspar Wijngaard (Image Comics: Angelic).
Buchan works as Press and Communications Officer at one of the UK's last independent art schools. He is also acting Social Media and Publicity Officer for South West Devon Labour Party. Prior to joining the college he worked as an Account Manager at Triangle PR, in Manchester, representing clients in the building and construction, social care, technology, insurance, and publishing sectors. Phillip’s past PR clients include SEQUENTIAL, the iPad app for digital graphic novels, and pro bono work for clients including YES Matters, a group campaigning to tackle lack of knowledge around issues of consent and sexual objectification.
